Testimonials from students

I’m a relatively new member at Gavel Club but I’ve been welcomed so warmly by the fellow Gaveleers and adult leaders! I enjoy getting to be creative with my speeches and roles, and the honest feedback I get from both students and leaders has helped me lot. I especially have fun signing up for the table topics master role, because it’s a great way I can learn about my friends and I hear their cool stories.

I have participated in the Mississauga Gavel club for many years, and the numerous educators have assisted me in improving my leadership and communication abilities. Meetings of the Mississauga Gavel Club have also helped me overcome my fear of public speaking and social anxiety. The educators at the Club are incredibly upbeat and always eager to assist. I would be a far less well-rounded speaker and leader without the tremendous assistance from everyone at the Mississauga Gavel club.

From my first meeting, I was welcomed and supported in my journey. The members of all the clubs where I have been a member are very kind and understanding, and I received a lot of help in achieving my desired outcomes. I developed my speech writing and presentation skills by delivering various speeches, but I also learned organizational and leadership skills while being a club officer and a member of the club overall.

The skills I learned at the club and from other members, I have applied to daily life, where I have been able to achieve more because of what I have learned from my time at the club. Even after more than a year as a member, I continue to pick up new abilities at each meeting. But the opportunity to support others in learning and achieving their objectives is what I adore most about Toastmasters.

For these reasons, I advise everyone who wants to strengthen their English language usage and communication and speaking skills to join Toastmasters. They would be astounded by the difference it makes in their communication capacity, all in a welcoming, welcoming environment.
